Julia Ellen Richardson Carter is a native of Seattle, WA. She grew up as one of 12 children in a huge, very musical family with a great love for the arts. She completed her BFA in Music Dance Theatre at Brigham Young University and moved to New York after performing in their BFA Showcase in April of 2015. 

Julia just returned to the city after being a Lead Female Vocalist on Viking Ocean Cruise Line for the last seven months, sailing through Northern Europe, the Arctic Circle, the Eastern Seaboard and the Caribbean.

Before that she toured the southern states with Theatreworks USA's production of A Christmas Carol. She has also performed regionally at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre in St. George, UT, the Jackson Hole Playhouse in Wyoming, the Hale Centre Theatre, the Scera Centre for the Arts, and at BYU. Julia also was a featured soloist as part of a collegiate international touring company called the Young Ambassadors. For two years of college she traveled and performed with their Musical Theatre show to South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, China and various locations across the US.

In addition to her talents in Musical Theatre performing, Julia has a love for film acting, voice over work, vocal recording, dialect studies and songwriting. She paid her way through college performing as a jazz sing for weddings and other events.

Julia is a lover of pecan pie, bike rides, old silent films, badminton, Jane Austen, the ukulele, and her adorable pet dog Archibald Kingsley Carter, or "Archie" for short. (You can follow him on instagram @sirarchibaldkingskley_thedog)
