Julia Ellen Richardson is a native of Seattle, WA. She grew up in a huge, very musical family with a great love for the arts. She is currently based in New York City and has been proud to call Manhattan her home base for the last 10 years.
Julia was most recently seen touring with the North American Tour of Les Misérables as the Factory Girl in the Female Ensemble and understudying Madame Thénardier. She toured with this production for over 2 and a half years. Before that, she was also a part of the Pre-Covid tour of Les Misérables as the Swing for the Female Ensemble and Factory Girl Cover. She traveled with that tour for over a year and a half. Over the years, Julia has performed over 1000 performances of Les Mis, touring to over 60 cities spanning over her four plus years total with the production.
Before Les Mis, Julia could be seen as a Lead Female Vocalist on Viking Ocean Cruise Line sailing through Northern Europe, the Arctic Circle, the Eastern Seaboard and the Caribbean. She also toured the Southern States with Theatreworks USA's production of A Christmas Carol. Some of her favorite regional contracts included working at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre in St. George, UT, the Jackson Hole Playhouse in Wyoming, the Hale Centre Theatre, and the Scera Centre for the Arts.
In addition to her talents in Musical Theatre performing, Julia has her own private Vocal Studio. She has taught voice lessons to students in person and virtually all over the country for the last 6 years.
Julia’s other loves include baking, visiting her super dreamy fiancé in Scotland, reading queer literature, collecting jazz records, doing make-up tutorials, song writing and most importantly, visiting her adorable nieces & nephews!
